When I dreamed of being a mom, I gave absolutely no thought to the amount of laundry that would come with the role. I was completely caught off guard when I realized how many hours would be spent sorting, washing, hanging, folding, ironing, and alas…putting it all away. For a while I thought that once we were through the baby stage of spit ups and blow outs it would get better, but I was wrong. Now we are into food spills, grass stains, and stinky hockey equipment!
Over the past few months I have been so thankful for the significant reduction in the hours I need to spend in the laundry room. I am able to do two loads at once thanks to the LG TWINWash™ system and I am able to freshen up many items in the LG Styler that I may have needed to put through a full load in the past. Here is what my typical Saturday morning looks like now thanks to my LG Ultimate Laundry Room Makeover.
After breakfast I make a second cup of coffee, strip everyone’s beds, and head downstairs to the laundry room to sort through everything to make piles of:
- Lights
- Darks
- Orange/reds (Clay wears mostly orange so it truly becomes a small load of its own lol)
- Towels/Facecloths
- Bed Sheets (the large washer can handle all four bedsheet sets at once!)
- Activewear
- Cleaning cloths (from Friday cleaning)
From there I start the front load washer with sheets and the LG Sidekick™ pedestal washer with cleaning cloths. Throughout the day I can get through all seven loads, two at a time, with one leftover (lights with active wear, darks with orange/red; and towels to finish things off). The larger wash basin has a 5-litre capacity which can accommodate large loads very well, and the LG SideKick pedestal washer offers a 1.6 litre capacity which is perfect for smaller loads. At the same time, I use the LG Styler to prepare any clothes that I need for the week and get the stink out of the boy’s hockey equipment when they get home from practice.
